چکیده
‘Shiranui’ is a mandarin ( Citrus reticulata var. austera ) that highly treasured for its unique and delicious flavor, obtains premium prices in the marketplace. Although flavorful, tends to develop off-flavor during storage. In this study we examined use of different storage wax (SW) pack (PW) combinations determine whether flavor can be improved after by adjusting coating protocols. initial test, either SW or no was applied harvest, each followed an application one two types PW 1 day, 3 weeks, 7 weeks then held week at 20 °C. Results indicate not important factor but instead type as final led greater internal oxygen levels fruit less formation. The lessening significant only °C storage, when greatest. Greater weight loss accompanied coating. second with solids concentrations (5%, 10%, 15%) were evaluated attempt reduce loss, development acceptability than observed using 1% test 1. prone developing may mitigated, least part, rather PW.

Purpose of review: This article reviews studies conducted on maturity indices, climacteric behaviour, artificial ripening, and preand postharvest treatments, which affect the shelf-life, packaging, storage and postharvest pathology of ber fruits. Findings: Ber fruits show climacteric respiration behaviour. Various maturity indices including colour, total soluble solids, harvesting date, days fr...
متن کاملPostharvest Storage Procedures and Oxidative Stress
Oxidative stress in fruits and vegetables can be detected either directly (as accumulations in reactive oxygen species, increases in lipid peroxidation products, enhanced membrane leakage, or accumulation of brown pigments) or indirectly (as changes in antioxidant components or antioxidant enzyme systems). How all of these measures of oxidative stress relate to each other and how they are assoc...
متن کاملEthical issues in managing Lysosomal storage disorders in children in low and middle income countries
The lysosomal storage diseases are a group of rare, inherited metabolic diseases affecting about 1 in 7000 to 8000 people. In recent years, the introduction of enzyme replacement therapy, substrate reduction therapy and small molecule therapy, has changed the natural course of this otherwise progressive group of disorders leading to severe morbidity and early mortality. These treatment options,...
متن کاملEnvironmental issues in managing asthma.
Management of asthma requires attention to environmental exposures both indoors and outdoors. Americans spend most of their time indoors, where they have a greater ability to modify their environment. The indoor environment contains both pollutants (eg, particulate matter, nitrogen dioxide, secondhand smoke, and ozone) and allergens from furred pets, dust mites, cockroaches, rodents, and molds....

Research was conducted to integrate preharvest disease control methods and postharvest practices to manage diseases, improve fruit quality, and extend the shelf-life of longans and rambutans exported from Hawaii. The main pathogens of longan and rambutans were isolated and identified as Lasmenia, Colletotrichum, Pestalotiopsis and Phomopsis. In vitro sensitivity of these pathogens to registered...
